I highly suggest not hiring Janeen as your parenting consultant. Janeen does not know the concept of 'neutral source' or the the term 'in the best interest'. She is extremely antagonistic, she likes toto throw aroundaround her degree and education, her desicions are influenced by money or who is paying and she cannot keep a professional demeanor. With Janeen, it is about who is the better actor no matter what type of proof you may have to offer her. Not only that, she will not take the time to thoroughly go through anything you provide for her. I promise you money will be better spent elsewhere. Still not sure? Set up some free consults with lawyers and ask about her.
You couldn't have said this any better about Janeen. I'm very fearful for any parent who doesn't do their research. I unfortunately did not do enough research before it was too late. I've spoken with several attorneys repeating that she tends to side one direction. Who puts up the best act...

I am dealing with that now!!!!! I could not have said it better! She would have listened if i could act or pay the way she wanted. i can in no way get her to listen to my side of things. The best interest is not in her evaluation skillset!!!

Janeen was the custody evaluator for our divorce. She refused to listen to what I had to say during the evaluation. She would ask a question & would not let me explain anything. She put her focus on the fact that I was placed in a foster home in my childhood years due to my brother sexually molesting me. Her questions were inappropriate.. "Did he penetrate you" referring to my brother. I told her that had nothing to do with my children. She kept repeating the question, stating that "Did you know that most children that grow up with domestic violence, tend to do it themselves?". She did not care that their father grew up in an abusive home to alcoholic parents and the fact that he threatened to kill our then 14 year old daughter, AND he is a drug addict (he failed the drug test) and our children also witnessed his physical and mental abuse to me as well. Just because I didn't file a restraining order against him, she does not believe anything happened. She charged me extra money to do an additional interviews because I did not have enough money to pay for my share of the costs of the evaluation. The reality of it is she didn't do anything at all except interview us and our children and stopped until I was able to pay her my cost PLUS extra money to reinterview us, and to do the case that she didn't do to begin with. She actually told me not to " send anything more" unless she asks for it.
I do NOT recommend this women!! She makes her mind up before she even does the evaluation & does not change it regardless of what you have for evidence or what anyone else says.

If this person is 'recommended', run like hell. She is the most self-absorbed money grabber I've ever met. We were in a very contentious divorce yet we both agreed she was horrible. Probably the only thing we agreed on in 3 years.

I was surprised to only find 7 comments...I am now in a fight with my brother over my mom and Janeen was appointed by the court, I was so happy to get a mediator until I realize we had been assigned a maniac who is everything and more in regards to all the other comments on this blog. I can't help but wonder how many lives have been traumatized and ruined by this women. So very heartbreaking and I almost have no hope left for my mom because of janeen. How do you stop someone with such power over people's lives when her education, background and credentials are so impressive.god help us...

Wow. I posted my initial comment back on January 2016. I Googled Janeen Massaros again to see if I can find anything else for our custody case and came across this online thread again, but only to find more parents struggling with the same issues with her.
My suggestion is everyone complain to the BBB and file a an ethics claim. GET HER NAME OUT ON THE WEB!!!

Whoever recommended the ADR board was on the right track. You need to follow through with this and provide ALL evidence as to why and how she's being partial. Only provide facts and not your opinions. If you are right, the law will side with you and there's nothing she or anyone else can do about it.

I also would like to add that I've consulted with multiple big shot family attorneys and they all have recommended to go through with the ADR board. I am hoping that it is legit..... please get Janeen Massaros' name out there so other distraught divorced parents can learn from our mistakes.
We hired Janeen massaros to conduct a custody evaluation. She was paid $8500 dollars. She was apparently doing research for 7 months only to find out she did all of her interviews by email the last 5 days before the trial. She refused to testify during the trial and her entire evaluation was thrown out after the first question about how she came to her decision. She is biased unprofessional and incompetent. She needs to go to jail for fraud. My ex wife has maltreatment on her, and can’t be around children for 7 years because she abused my daughter and still got custody. Massaros believe the 2 child abuse investigators were wrong about their investigation, and said assistant district attorney Karen Wolfe was wrong with her investigation with no proof. She interviewed the mom and believed everyone is wrong. So.. I have a woman who is mentally ill, convicted of child abuse and is physically disabled caring for my children. I am a veteran, teacher, don’t smoke, don’t drink, never a ticket, masters degree and a teacher for 25 years. It’s hard not to be bitter, but she needs to refund the $8500 and pay for another evaluation.
I would like to put together a group to file complaints against Janeen Massaros - strength in numbers is always better than filing just 1 complaint. Please contact me if you are interested. Nothing would make me happier than to get this horrible woman out of business - and also have all of us who she put through hell get our money back. Thank you.
I would like to find out if the complaints against Janeen Massaros have been filed by anyone - ? I would like to get involved with whatever processes are necessary to get this person out of the business of being a custody evaluator - she is a Quack. I would be willing to meet with anyone who would like to do this as a group - She has caused havoc in the lives of my beautiful children by forcing them to be with an abusive and mentally ill man - that they directly told her they did not want to live with. My 2 oldest children told me that she was trying to "talk them into saying they wanted to live with their dad." and that she would not listen to them. She never listen to anything I said and did not take into consideration anything I put into writing. So, I'd like to work with others to do the necessary steps to get her out of business. Thank you.
We filed and reported her to the ADR. She has been reprimanded by them, although the it’s not private and not made out to public. I would imagine if there are more complaints, then those might possibly be public. But please please please, contact the ADR and report her! Follow the process and send proof of what she’s done. Justice will be served. Be patient.
